Western Reserve Falls to Margaretta 67-43

Schaefer leads the Polar Bears past the Blue Devils

Western Reserve had a great start, they played toe to toe with the Polar Bears, handled the pressure and had a one point advantage after 1.

Thats when the fundamental play of Margaretta kicked in. They limited the Blue Devils to one shot on every possession as you seen white jerseys on blue jerseys all over the floor. They created turnovers while playing the passing lanes very well. All the shots in the offseason has paid off as it seemed even the bench players were coming in and knocking down open shoots. All this led to the Polar Bears turning the one point deficit into a 12 point halftime lead.

Senior Elliana Shaffer, who had her second straight 20 point game at the Classic, finished with 21 points. The Keiser (FL) commit also added five assists. 2023 Kylie Leibacher had nine for the Polar Bears and 2024 Eden Palomo added eight.

Margaretta outscored Western Reserve 45-18 in the middle quarters and were up 58-30 early in the 4th before emptying the benches. Robert Morris commit Danielle Vuletich led the Blue Devils with 17 points and nine rebounds while Kennedy Miller had six helpers. Both teams thrive on full court pressure, but Margaretta won the turnover battle 19-8.
