Ella Mescher: Although we just started day 2 of 3, it’s going to be a tough task for any player to leave Hiland having had a better weekend than Minster’s 2022 forward. Having faced two great teams who constantly pressure the opposing backcourt, Melcher did a tremendous job of moving without the ball and helping her guards. She provided a constant and efficient target. Against Margaretta, she scored 19 points on 9/12 from the field. Combined with her output from the previous day (Hoban), she’ll depart with 31 points, shooting a sizzling 15 of 22, while grabbing 14 rebounds in the Wildcats’ two wins.
Taylor Thierry: Ohio State is getting a stud in this kid! She ends her Classic in the Country career by garnering back-to-back double-doubles. Landing 12 points and 10 rebounds against Aurora.
Kacee Baumhaower: If you’re high on fundamentals, this girl is such a blast to watch! 19 points and 9 rebounds.
Angela Roshak: Trinity had no answer to halt Roshak. In just 25 minutes on the floor, she tallied 22 points on 9 of 13 shooting from the field. Furthermore, proving Hoover will only continue to be a force, with a girl like Roshak approaching her senior year as she’s tasked with leading a highly touted 2023 Hoover class.
Madyson Stottsberry: With Emma Shumate preoccupied with a daunting defensive task, Stottsberry joined teammate Maddie Veisicky in making up for any sacrificed scoring. She walked away with 21 points and 9 rebounds. This team just remains so well-rounded and one of the most fun teams to watch, in a state full of great teams.
