Final 4: I’ve seen every team play besides Mentor, though I am fairly familiar with their personel. Eastlake has a couple unstoppable forces in Cleveland State SR commit Destiny Leo and Akron commit Abby Carter, who is a junior. They also have some very good supporting pieces in Hamilton and Drew. The toughest schedule meant more losses this year, but being better prepared. Cleveland Heights is a very good ball club and could surprise some people. Haylie Sims is about as good as they come, and very well could be the best player in the district.

Teams to Watch: Going to be tough going through Mentor and North but Chardon has the potential to shock someone. They have some injuries lingering right now so they’ll need to be healthy to do it. They have maybe the best coach in the district, so that could even some things out. I really like Mayfield as a sleeper as well, they’ve gotten better as the season has went on. They have competed and kept it close with most of the higher seed sin their district. Catherine Rock can be a game changer, and I love what Coach Looman is doing up there. Don’t overlook Euclid either, Alexis Reese is the best post player in the district, she can be a 20/20 kid on any night, if they get some momentum they might be able to cause some problems.

My Pick: North is too high powered, they’re hungry after last years regional runner up finish. They’ve grinded things out a whole lot more this year. I expect Eastlake North to return back to Canton.
